KEGALLEADS.COM is a local online platform focused on Kegalle and surrounding areas, helping people discover businesses, classified advertisements, promotions, services, and other local listings. This Privacy Policy describes how KEGALLEADS.COM collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you access or use the website.
Account information. If you register an account, we collect your name, and either an email address or a mobile number, along with your password (stored securely, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from that provider.
Business information. If you register a business, we collect what you choose to submit: business name, description, category, address, phone, WhatsApp number, website, and social media links, opening hours, logo and photos, owner details, listed services and products, and any offers or promotions you create.
Classified ad and wanted-post information. When you post a classified ad or a "wanted" request, we collect the title, description, images, price, category, location, and the contact details you choose to include.
Review information. If you leave a review for a business, we collect your star rating, your written comment, and which account posted it.
Appointment information. If you request an appointment with a business, we collect your name, phone number, the business and service selected, your preferred date and time, and any optional message. Appointment requests are prepared for you to send to the business via WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, depending on how that business has configured its contact options.
Search information. If you use the search feature, we may keep a short history of your search terms (and, if you're logged in, link it to your account) so we can show you "Recent Searches." You can clear this at any time from the search box.
Technical information. Like virtually every website, our web server automatically processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) as part of handling any request — this is standard hosting-level behavior, not something KEGALLEADS actively collects or analyzes as a feature.
We use the information described above to: create and manage accounts; display business profiles, classified ads, offers, and wanted posts you submit; provide the appointment-request feature; let users contact businesses directly; operate search and favourites; moderate submitted content (ads, businesses, promotions, reviews, and wanted posts all go through an approval step before appearing publicly); prevent spam and abuse; maintain the security of the platform; and respond to support requests.
KEGALLEADS.COM does not sell your personal information.
Information submitted for a public business profile — business name, address, phone number, WhatsApp number, opening hours, services, products, photos, and any public social media links you add — is visible to anyone who visits the website. Please only submit information you're comfortable making public.
Information you intentionally include in a classified ad or a wanted post — including any contact details you type into the description — may become visible to other users once the listing is approved. Avoid including sensitive personal information you don't want made public. KEGALLEADS.COM may review, restrict, or remove content that violates the site's rules.
A review's star rating and comment are shown publicly on the relevant business profile once approved, along with the name on the account that posted it.
KEGALLEADS.COM's appointment feature prepares a request — it does not directly send anything without your action. When you choose WhatsApp, you're taken to WhatsApp with the message pre-filled, and you press Send yourself. When you choose Messenger, the message is shown on-screen for you to copy, since Facebook does not support pre-filled Messenger messages. KEGALLEADS.COM does not guarantee that a business will accept, confirm, or complete an appointment — the appointment itself is an arrangement between you and that business.
KEGALLEADS.COM does not currently offer browser push notifications. If this feature is introduced in the future, this section will be updated to explain what notifications are sent and how to control them — and no notification will ever be sent without your explicit permission.
KEGALLEADS.COM uses a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against unauthorized submissions (CSRF protection) — this is required for the site's core functionality (like staying logged in and posting content) to work. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.
KEGALLEADS.COM integrates with WhatsApp (for contacting businesses and sending appointment requests), Facebook and Messenger (for login, sharing, and appointment requests), and Google (for Maps directions links and for "Sign in with Google"). When you interact with these services, their own privacy policies apply — KEGALLEADS.COM does not control how they handle your information.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, protections against common web attacks (SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and cross-site request forgery), and ownership checks so you can only edit or delete your own content. That said, no method of internet transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as your account or listing remains active. You can delete your own ads, business listings, services, products, promotions, and wanted posts at any time from your dashboard. We do not currently operate an automated system that purges old data on a schedule beyond what you delete yourself.
You can view and manage your own ads, business profiles, services, products, promotions, reviews, wanted posts, and favourites directly from your dashboard. To update core account details (such as your registered email, mobile number, or password) or to request that your account be deleted, please contact us using the details below — self-service account editing is not yet available, but we're happy to make these changes for you on request.
KEGALLEADS.COM is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where applicable law would require parental consent.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the website's features change. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
